CH STONEHILL GO ROUND ROM

"GO GO"

Sired by Ch. Ouachitah Beau Chiene, ROM (the breed's all time top producing sire)
ex Ch. Stonehill Scratch Pad, ROM (a great granddaughter of Beau Chiene)

Go Go came to Davishall as a yearling. Bred by Randy Carr and spotted as a young dog by handler Hiram Stewart, who strongly suggested we purchase him.
I remember I did not care for GoGo the first time I ever saw him. He was plainer in the head (at that time) than I wanted but he did have two things going for him; he had the best side gait I had ever seen on a Chihuahua and he was an own son of the breeds greatest sire, Ch. Ouachitah Beau Chiene, who was nearing the end of his breeding career at the time.

Little did I know at that time, this son of Beau Chiene was to become at least as prepotent as his sire. There is little doubt, had Go Go been used to the extent of other great sires, he would have far surpassed them in Champion offspring. His percentage of champions to puppies sired is a whopping 60% and his percentage of group winners sired to puppies sired is over 10%. No other Chihuahua has amassed those statistics. All that and yet he sired only 3 outside litters. All of the others were born and raised here at Davishall.

Part of Go Go's success may have been a dog at the right place and at the right time. By the time he entered our breeding program, our bitches were linebred to Ch. Ouachitah Mister Snow Bliss who was a three quarter brother to Ch. Ouachitah Beau Chiene (they both were out of the same bitch and their sire's were half brothers). Another reason for his success may have been my theory on breeding dogs. I was fortunate to have had a professor in college with a doctorate in animal genetics. From Dr. Allen, I learned how to breed successfully by carefully understanding phenotype and genotype. That education has certainly paid off in the over 200 Champions produced here.
But for whatever the reason, or combination of reasons, it is abundantly clear that Go Go has changed not only Davishall, bringing it to national prominence, but he has changed the course and direction of the breed.

The legacy of Ch. Stonehill Go Round is quite simple: Topline, tailset and temperament. Get those three things in proper perspective, and you have winning dogs, no matter how fancy the heads may or may not be.

Breeding wise, Go Round was also very clean genetically. He was bred to his litter sister, to his half sisters, his daughters, even his daughters that were out of his daughters! No genetic abnormalities and some of the best patella's of the breed.

Go Round is gone now. However his legacy lives on. We still have show age progeny of him and just recently, his youngest son, Ch. Morgans Dreamfinder, who was out of his own granddaughter was Best in Show at the National Specialty.

In each and every litter here at Davishall, I am proud to say I can see a little bit of Go Go. His stamp of quality and color pattern will last for many generations I am sure. Notably, left to carry on are a number of Champion sons here at Davishall. Of particular note is the great Ch. Davishall Fools Gold, my favorite smooth son of Go Round and near Champion Davishall Adonis, the Go Go look alike that is siring closest in the image of his sire.

To all the people that had a part in Go Rounds illustrious career I say thank you. From his breeder, Randy Carr, our handler Hiram Stewart that found him, handler Kyle Potts that finished him, breeder extraordinaire Linda George that bred and owned his sire, the great Beau Chiene, and most importantly my family that realized early on that greatness was in our midst, I say thank you.

And to Go Go, here's to you buddy..........
